This is a one-day in-person workshop on Monday, September 14, 2026. The workshop will run from 8:30AM-3:30PM EST.

The workshop will be held at Ball State Fishers Center at 8626 E. 116th Street, Suite 300, Fishers, IN 46038.

Guiding Students in an AI Era Workshop
AI is here and demanding an immediate shift in how we counsel and prepare students for college and career pathways. This workshop moves beyond the hype to true AI Readiness. Providing K-12 School Counselors, Career Counselors, and those in student advising roles with the knowledge, research, and resources to be AI literate and support students AI literacy.
Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Master a jargon-free understanding of core AI concepts to confidently discuss AI’s impact on all industries and the future workforce.
- Develop and Implement student advising strategies that emphasize durable skills and interdisciplinary studies to prepare students for emerging, high-value jobs.
- Evaluate and plan a human-centered approach to AI literacy that empowers students to use AI as a co-creator, mitigate the risk of cognitive dependency, critically evaluate AI bias, and prioritize data privacy.
- Test AI tools and practice prompt engineering techniques for prioritizing direct student services and optimizing indirect services.
The NCWIT Counselors for Computing (C4C) program provides information and resources that help counselors become effective influencers and advocates for computing education. We bring people and programs together with professional development, knowledge, and resources to give all students access to transformative computing careers.
Stipend, PGPs, Supplies
Workshop attendees will receive a certificate of completion.
All supplies will be provided.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
This workshop is eligible for a $200 incentive for all attendees, which will be paid after the workshop.
