Using Microsoft’s FarmBeats for Students Curriculum, this workshop empowers teachers across all subjects (ag, science, CS, etc.) to confidently integrate computer science, AI, and agriculture into their classroom. Educators will collaboratively explore hands-on strategies, share ideas, and develop a concrete plan for bringing technology-rich agriculture using the BBC micro:bit & CS experiences into their school.

This workshop is for 6-12 teachers interested in integrating CS, AI, and Agriculture into their classrooms.
You do not need to be a computer science teacher to attend. This workshop is perfect for ag, science, etc. teachers who are looking to add some physical computing, AI, and data science into their curriculum through new or extended lessons.

This is a two-day in-person workshop on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31, 2026. The workshop will run each day from 9:00AM-3:00PM ET.
The workshop will be held at Region 8 ESC 1027 Rudisill Blvd Ft. Wayne, IN 46807.
Additional information about parking, room location, and details of the day will be shared to all registered attendees closer to the workshop date.
Breakfast, lunch, and all supplies are included for participants.
Objectives
During this workshop, participants will work with digital sensors, data analysis, and AI to bring real-world activities to their classrooms. Throughout this workshop, teachers will create, code, and compare plant monitoring systems using a micro:bit equipped with environmental sensors.
By the end of the workshop teachers will leave with practical resources, cross-curricular connections, and a ready-to implement plan that allows students to explore the crossroads of computer science and agriculture.

Stipend:
This workshop is eligible for a $400 stipend.
For attendees that are traveling over 50 miles, we will also automatically include an additional travel stipend of $150 to allow for hotel accommodations. Hotel decisions and booking are up to individual participants.
PGP Points:
Workshop attendees will receive 12 PGP points.
Classroom Supplies:
All participants will receive a classroom kit of supplies (over $400 of equipment) to set the groundwork for easy implementation without initial school investment.
