What is a CS Byte by Nextech?

In order to understand a byte, it is good to define a bit. A bit is the smallest piece of information a computer can store; a single binary digit. A bit can be either a 0 or a 1.

A byte is a unit of data that is eight bits long. The bytes allow users to communicate with computers by creating and storing single characters (letters, numbers, and symbols). While single bytes are not as big and powerful as a megabyte (MB), which uses 8,000,000 bits, they are very mighty as they are able to generate basic information to the computer and its user.

A Nextech CS Byte is exactly the same thing. It is a taste of a specific computer science concept, topic, or theme that we have carefully created, adapted, or curated resources and activities for educators, making it easy to bring those topics into their classrooms. Join us virtually as we present a variety of Nextech CS Bytes.
