Indiana’s fifth annual CSPDWeek is brought to you by Nextech and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), with support from the Indiana Department of Education. During CSPDWeek, 400+ Indiana K-12 educators will come together to learn, network, create community, and continue to expand high-quality, inclusive, and rigorous Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science education for all K-12 students. This year’s event will focus on Computer Science education as a foundation for understanding AI.
As the convener, alongside with CSTA, for CSPDWeek, Nextech works tirelessly to bring together nationally-recognized Computer Science (CS) curriculum and professional development (PD) models, giving K-12 Hoosier educators direct access to professional learning in everything from integrating computer science into their kindergarten classroom to full-year Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum for high school classrooms.
This comprehensive, weeklong event removes all barriers for bringing CS to the classroom. All expenses, including lodging and meals are provided at no cost to the teacher, school or district. Teachers receive extensive training materials, along with classroom materials, and a stipend for their time spent at the conference.
The commitment extends beyond CSPDWeek as teachers remain a part of the community of educators well beyond the week. Educators participate in a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education during the school year to earn a second stipend. Finally, teachers who successfully complete the PD are well on the path to certification for becoming a licensed-CS or STEM teacher.
