Indiana CSPDWeek

Indiana’s annual CSPDWeek is hosted by Nextech and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), with support from the Indiana Department of Education. Each year, more than 400 K–12 educators from across the state come together to learn, collaborate, and build community while expanding access to high-quality, inclusive computer science and artificial intelligence education for Indiana students.

As a lead convener of CSPDWeek alongside CSTA, Nextech brings together nationally recognized computer science curriculum and professional development providers, giving

educators hands-on learning opportunities across the K–12 spectrum—from introducing computer science in early elementary classrooms to implementing full-year artificial intelligence coursework in high school.

This immersive, weeklong experience is designed to remove barriers that often prevent computer science from reaching the classroom. CSPDWeek is provided at no cost to teachers, schools, or districts. Lodging, meals, classroom-ready materials, and a stipend for participating educators are all included, ensuring teachers have the resources and support they need to bring computer science and AI learning back to their students.

The impact extends far beyond the week itself. Educators become part of a growing statewide community of computer science teachers and continue their learning throughout the school year. By completing additional professional development hours, teachers earn a second stipend while strengthening their skills and confidence. Many participants also move closer to earning licensure in computer science or STEM, helping expand Indiana’s capacity to deliver high-quality computer science education.
