How will Indiana's first Programming Competition work?
- Teams of 2-4 students can participate. All teams must be sponsored by a teacher or school staff member from their school, and a school can sponsor an unlimited number of teams.
- On or before April 14, 2023, the online competition system will be available for teams to test submitting an (easy) practice problem.
- On April 20, 2023, teams and their teacher/staff sponsor will gather at their school, use their unique login to access the competition system and get ready for the competition to start at 4:30pm EST.
- Once the competition begins, teams will have 90 minutes to program and answer as many questions as they can. The problems will range in difficulty with some anticipated to be quite challenging for HS students. The competition will end at 6:00pm EST.
- Scoring is quite easy! Teams will receive full credit for a correct answer, no credit for not answering and a penalty for an incorrect answer. Points are also awarded based on how much time it took a team to submit their solution to a problem.
- Need (almost) instant gratification? The winner of the Nextech Programming Competition will be announced around 6:05pm EST.
Are you ready to compete and put your CS skills on a pedestal? Please fill out our teacher information form (one per teacher, regardless of number of teams) and get your teams registered today!
