CS Education Week

CS Education Week is an annual celebration of computer science, the first week of December. Many schools or teachers use this week to highlight computer science and its role in our lives. Engage your students with organized activities for creating an CS Education Week celebration for your classroom, school or even district.

Target Audience: K-12

Potentially how + when you would use this in your classroom:

  • Use these activities to help you organize an activity for CSEdWeek. Activities can be big or small, during the day or after school, and/or involve single/multiple grades or even community members! Feel free to adapt these resources to your needs and get creative!

 

This bundle includes / What you’re getting with this resource:

  • Activity 1: How to Host an Hour of Code – This resource is a tool to educators and/or staff to help in the planning and coordination of an Hour of Code event.
  • Activity 2: Hour of Code Activities – This is a list of Hour of Code Activities for students including description, grade and ability level.
  • Activity 3: Career Exploration – This activity is perfect for exploring Computer Science Careers during CSEdWeek, but is also well-suited for integration as students explore different STEM topics and fields in their coursework.
  • Activity 4: CSEdWeek Choice Board by CS for AR – Explore these current, and past, CS Education Week of Activities. Each resource from CS for AR includes a week of activities (Monday – Friday) that are categorized by K-4, 5-8, 9-12, teacher and CS Hero of the Day, includes daily themes of coding, robotics, data science, cybersecurity and AI.
