What is a PLC?
The main goal of our Professional Learning Community (PLC) is to foster an ongoing community of educators around a focused topic. Through long-term collaboration where our teachers meet regularly they will share experiences, discuss content, and work towards common goals. As a member of a PLC educators will work together to strengthen their understanding and execution of the focus topic while continuing to support you in bringing computer science to your classroom.
Overview
This PLC provides a Deeper Dive into the book Computer Science in K-12: An A-to-Z Handbook on Teaching Programming. Participants in this PLC will have time and space to explore, attempt, and reflect on the 26 computer science content and pedagogy concepts covered in the text. In this PLC, K-12 teachers from all subjects will identify applicable chapters from the text and share their takeaways for lesson integration and applications in a K-12 Indiana classroom. Over the course of this PLC, teachers are encouraged to test and modify text content for their classroom audience, and share their resources with the PLC community.
