Building AI Literacy in K-12 Students

Overview

This Professional Learning Community provides a collaborative platform for educators to deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications. Participants will work together to explore AI tools and concepts, share effective strategies for leveraging AI in teaching, and address challenges related to implementation. Through participation, teachers will gain valuable insights, resources, and peer support to build confidence and competence in using AI, empowering them to make informed, thoughtful decisions about how AI can enhance their professional practice.

Eligibility and Pre-Requisites

This PLC is open to all teachers from all grade levels, subject areas, and experience levels, educators will be divided into grade band breakouts to allow for more specific conversation. Teachers will be tasked to explore one AI tool and come prepared to discuss the tool’s functionality and applications in the classroom.

Workshop Details

  • Length: Three, 1 hour school year meetings (1 – Fall 2025, 2 – Spring 2026)
  • Location: Virtual zoom
